Colleague of mine Jorge de la Garza mexican collage artist from Monterrey, Mexico uses juxtaposition of pictures through his work of figurative sculptures  with quartz formations, archeological artifacts with underground caves and mountain landscapes. As an artist i am intrigued  with his work and how he explores his  fascination with crystals, stones
geometry and two dimensional work that in some way relates to my work.
The first ring piece below was inspired  by geometry and space which is made of silver and crystal circle shapes of recycle pieces from a vintage watch. The second ring is an amethyst stone with silver , it simply rest in your finger with the impression of resting in space.Enjoy!

As you seen in past pieces both  are part of a series , the onyx piece which i love is not only interesting but the gemstone is meant to eliminate negative thinking . Its also said to bring spiritual inspiration. wiiii!!! Being that the properties of onyx are the  same as those of quartz, this quartz piece is a quartz found in an antique store, the way the quartz stands out  amazes me therefore i decided to play with the stone by using some chain to interact.

Hola! these  are  two pieces i recently made  inspired by geometry and stones, the green ring silver and jades is from a series i have done in different colors or rocks that give the illusion of  stones flying or resting in your fingers . The quartz necklace was an amazing finding from a flee market , wanted to give a special place, so thought of a geometric silver  shape that could be hang with a simple chain to emphasize mainly on the stone. enjoy.:)

check out this amazing song. wink wink.

i want to be trapped in amber.

I made this piece especially for an aunt whom i am living at the moment she game me this ámber rocks to make a ring,  here is what i made. yum yum. Ámber is a hard yellow substance that is usually considered a semi-precious gem. But amber is not a mineral; it’s the remains of trees that lived millions of years ago In prehistoric times, sap leaked to the ground from pine trees. Some of this sap, or resin, became buried under the ground or under water, and over millions of years, the weight of the earth or water crushed the sap into the beautiful,mineralike substance we call amber.Sometimes, insects or small animals became trapped in the sticky sap, and it hardened around their bodies. Today, when amber is found, it may still contain creatures that at were entombed in it millions of years ago!

In this piece i had the intention as well to give the sense of resting in space, leaving the stones and silver ring separate form each other. Jade+onyx :) which i felt neon and black complemented very well . what do you think? wink wink.

This piece, is part of my quartz collection, reminds me of  light savers from Star Wars, the ring is made of silver, brass and quartz , the tubes rest in your finger in a very fun and interesting way, that look like they are floating in space. :)

This piece done in silver  was inspired by architecture , i played with space and simple lines that will simply rest in your fingers. The images below are drawings with horse  hair in canvas by Robin McCauley , The choice of outline is intentional for its suggestiveness or emblematic theme as is the neutral canvas support. The hair, in addition to being a formal linear element, is chosen for its content, rich with personal narrative and public metaphor.

Take me to a crystal cave.

A couple weeks ago while i visited my friend Monica in Puebla Mexico, we stopped in this amazing flee market where they had bunch of vintage jewels, clothes and amazing minerals . This white quartz completely catch my eye :) . In this piece of course i wanted to play with the minerals  sticking out and how could i incorporate both into the piece. Silver chains, silver and brass, fun piece that could be worn either way
